Why Amble is an amazing place to call home

Our new development, Tantallon Parks, will be right in the heart of Amble. The town offers many reasons why it is a great place to call home, so we jumped at the chance to give more people the opportunity to become part of Amble’s future.

There’s never been a better time to live there. Exciting investments in recent years have seen the development of the marina area, and a brand-new school is on the way. Amble has been known for its beauty and coastline for many years, with enhancements like this seeing it grow to become one of Northumberland’s most desirable coastal towns.

Housing is in high demand, so we are pleased to be bringing 480 new homes to the area. This development will be a natural extension of the town, with homes that work for families seeing their dream forever home, first-time buyers, aspirational buyers and downsizers alike– all focused around quality and community. Whether you’re looking for your next home in Amble, are considering a move to the area, or want to move back to your roots, our new community focussed on family homes could provide the perfect place.

Here is a glimpse into what Amble has to offer today, making it an amazing place to call home.

State-of-the-art schooling

Our new homes will be right next door to the James Calvert Spence College campus. The school is receiving a brand-new build expected to open before the end of 2026, offering young people access to high quality facilities and increased educational opportunities.

A multi-million-pound investment has been made by Northumberland County Council to create this state-of-the-art school for Amble’s next generation. Exciting facilities will include contemporary classrooms, an open plan library at the centre of the school, specialist practical spaces, a sixth form study space and common room, plus excellent sporting facilities from a sports hall and fitness gym to a range of outdoor areas including a 3G pitch. A selection of the sports facilities will also be available for the public to use.

Award-winning coast

Amble was crowned among the top 10 ‘seaside staycation’ locations to visit in 2025. The area really is something special, from the beautiful marina to the brightly coloured beach huts – not forgetting the amazing views. Residents are lucky enough to enjoy all of this year-round.

A range of small businesses make up Amble Harbour Village. These retail pods are home to local makers selling everything from art, crafts, food produce and freshly caught seafood. The harbour also has a selection of long-standing restaurants and an ice cream parlour, serving fresh catches and homemade scoops.

Vibrant high street

Amble’s small high street has a collection of independent shops, including places to pick up everyday essentials from a butchers to a bakery. There’s also a choice of restaurants, cafes and pubs.

Proud community

Amble residents are incredibly proud of their town, and so they should be. The Amble Development Trust works hard to continue striving for more opportunities for the area, plus there are many groups, clubs and societies to be part of.

We hope our new development can help to build even stronger communities. We don’t want to just provide homes, we want to create a neighbourhood, attract further investment for the town to keep growing and leave a positive legacy for the future.
